Guest Feedback times 2 !

Even though we stayed there because it was close to Hospital, we felt we were at a retreat, our window faced the back of hotel where we saw a deer, wild turkey, and a turtle in the pond. The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was so relaxing, it took our mind off surgery my daughter had. This is our second stay, great food, great stay. Have recommended It.

Thank you

Patricia Worden and family

Hi Christina,
Sorry for the late reply, I have been meaning to write since the event. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone at Windermere !! We had an exceptional experience!! The food was outstanding and the staff exceptional! We had such a great time...the kids( and some of us adults ) danced right to the end(:
Many thanks to you as well Christina, between the emails, telephone calls and meetings, you made the whole experience so positive and seamless. We look so forward to our next experience at The Windermere.

Sincerely Gina, Doug, Ella and Abigail

Cafe Jazz Nights

The Windermere's Café Friday night Jazz is proving to be a hit, here's the line up for June....

Josh's Competition Update

Hey everyone.  Thanks for all the interest in the competition.  It was an amazing experience, and I'm so glad to have taken part.  I put myself out there and worked hard to produce the dishes as I had conceived. While I may not have won any medals or awards, I can honestly say I learned and grew from the experience.  It showed me what my strengths are and where I can improve in order to grow as a chef.  My experience working on line at Windermere's cafe helped me prepare for the contest, and in turn the contest will help my future performance on line.  That being said, I am glad to bring my attention back to my role as chef de partie in the cafe.  See you there soon...

Josh

Guest Feedback

I can't believe it's been a month since our wedding already!  We had such a wonderful day and you, and all the rest of the staff, were amazing.  Numerous friends and family commented on how smoothly everything went and how delicious the food was.  Thanks so much for all of your hard work!

I'm sure you're up to your eyeballs in wedding insanity now that it is May, so take your time responding to this, but we were wondering if we would be getting a final statement/tally for the reception (drinks consumed, etc)?

I've attached a couple of photos from our photographer;  I *love* how that front doorway frame looks backlit with the stained glass border! :)

Mum's Day Brunch

Mother's Day Brunch is SOLD OUT for this year, while this is great news from a revenue point of view, it's also a reflection on the work that we do day in day out. These sold out occasions and events at Windermere occur only because our guests have enjoyed great food and service in the past and choose to come back on these special days such as Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas Day etc...

My thanks to all for playing a part in making this sold out day happen.

Good Luck Joshua

Joshua Blackmore, one of our own Windermere's Café Chef's has a an exciting week ahead; here's what Joshua is up to -

Some information about the competition:

The Ontario Technological Skills Competition, at the RIM park in Waterloo, Monday May 5

Every college in Ontario sends 1 or 2 representatives from each trade to represent them, I am representing Fanshawe for culinary arts.

I have about 8 hours to create 3 courses, including a broccoli soup, an entree with duck, and a dessert including a raspberry mousse.  The rest of the details are up to me.  I have been practicing for 3 months now at Saffron's and at home in between my busy work schedule.  Windermere/Kristian has been supportive along the way and arranged the the time off I need for a final practice rehearsal on Saturday, I go up on Sunday and compete on Monday.  Award ceremonies are on Wednesday.

So let's hope I come back to work on Thursday with an award!  Regardless I already consider it an accomplishment and I'm grateful for all the support I've received.

Here is a website describing the event. http://www.skillsontario.com/index.php/en/competitions/otsc

All the best for Monday Joshua, congratulations on this accomplishment so far, Neil
